Dr Rami Berrama

BIO

Dr. Rami Beiram serves as the Associate Provost for Research at UAEU and plays a pivotal role in the university’s leadership team. In his previous role as Assistant Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, he was instrumental in developing and implementing policies that align with UAEU’s mission and vision for research and graduate education. He has successfully forged partnerships with national and international organizations to advance collaborative clinical and translational research, securing research grants and creating new opportunities for faculty and student engagement in joint research initiatives. Additionally, he led the expansion and international accreditation of UAEU’s Pharm.D program and recently played a pivotal role in establishing the UAEU Stem Cell Research Center, the first academic center of its kind in the UAE. Dr. Beiram holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from Harding University (USA), a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Rhode Island (USA), and a graduate of the Senior Executive Leadership Program in Strategic and Security Studies at the UAE National Defence College. Dr. Beiram’s research focuses on developing novel therapeutic strategies for Alzheimer’s disease and examining the mechanisms of drug action. His primary objective is to identify and develop new drug targets for treating Alzheimer’s disease. In addition to his role at UAEU, Dr. Beiram is a member of the International Advisory Board at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy (USA) and serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences (USA).
