SpeakerAmbassador Jorge Archila, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guatemala to the United Arab Emirates and Non-Resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the Republic of Iraq, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since October 1, 2024, was born in Guatemala City, married to Elizabeth Archila, and has a daughter named Audrey. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Economics from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Argosy University in Chicago, and is currently pursuing an Executive Master’s degree in Asia-Pacific and Latin American Studies from Tamkang University in Taipei. He began his diplomatic career in 2005, serving in multiple consular positions including Vice Consul in Chicago and Providence, Consul in Del Rio, Texas, and later Consul General in Raleigh where he opened the Consulate General and served the Guatemalan community in North and South Carolina. He also oversaw the opening of the Consulate General in Nashville, Tennessee, served as Dean of the Consular Corps in North Carolina, and was a board member of the Latin Credit Union, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, and the Guatemalan Student Support Group. He has been awarded the Paul Harris Fellow recognition by Rotary International.
