JudgeMansour Abdullah Al Housani, a member of the UAE Youth Council for Agriculture, has built a distinguished career in leading agricultural and sustainability initiatives. Through his role on the council, he has contributed to pioneering initiatives targeting national and academic youth engagement, international representation, and the development of innovative solutions to address environmental and climate challenges. He has played a prominent role in advancing food security and enhancing youth participation in shaping the future of agricultural sustainability. Mansour represented UAE youth in several national and international platforms, most notably the first edition of the YALA-FAST program of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), where he shared Emirati youth perspectives on the future of food security and the role of innovation in addressing climate change. Since 2023, he has served as President of the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine Club at UAE University, leading academic and community initiatives that advanced the agricultural sector within and beyond the university, such as establishing aquaponic and vertical farming systems to study the impact of light colors on plant growth and implementing an intelligent aflaj irrigation system. He has also participated in major conferences and exhibitions such as COP28, the UAE Agricultural Exhibition, Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition, and Liwa Date Festival, where he showcased his research and innovations in sustainable agriculture. His notable research includes studying the impact of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on wheat productivity under drought and salinity conditions, enhancing carbon sequestration in native plants, and developing new pollination methods for date palms to increase efficiency and quality. Mansour’s contributions support the UAE’s National Food Security Strategy 2051 and Net Zero 2050 vision, while improving agricultural production quality in line with the country’s goals. He has also implemented educational initiatives for school students to raise agricultural awareness and delivered national workshops to build a generation conscious of sustainability and food security. His national recognition includes winning the Gold Medal at the Sheikh Sultan Youth Energy Award in 2020 for student leadership and research contributions. He stands as a role model for ambitious Emirati youth, combining academic leadership with community impact and serving as a strong youth voice in advancing agricultural sustainability, food security, and climate change action.
